The first International Islamic Business Forum, held on July 27-28, 2024, was not just an event, but a powerful signal for the development of the real economy in CIS countries

The forum brought together over 200 participants from 12 countries, including experts from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia (KSA), Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, UAE, Palestine, Afghanistan, as well as representatives of Russian businesses, government agencies, and educational institutions

The scale of the event and the high caliber of its participants directly translated into both qualitative and quantitative outcomes. Over the two days, the Forum served as a powerful catalyst for generating concrete solutions and promising projects. A number of significant agreements were reached, laying a solid foundation for long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia, CIS countries, and the global Islamic world.

The following key outcomes underscore the Forum’s high status and practical value:

  • 4 SIGNED AGREEMENTS
    Including agreements between:
    • "My Business" Center and the "Shaylan" Association,
    • "Ajwati" (Saudi Arabia) and IIBF,
    • Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and the Bahrain Institute,
    • An agreement on the establishment of a dealership center for Ulyanovsk products in Turkmenistan.
  • FORUM RESOLUTION
The final document of the event was sent to all participants and relevant government bodies.
    • It outlines the objectives for developing Islamic business in Russia, including the standardization of the halal industry, the development of Islamic education and financial instruments, and the expansion of foreign trade with OIC countries.
  • KEY DEVELOPMENT ISSUES DISCUSSED
    • Export-import cooperation between regions of the Russian Federation and countries near and far abroad,
    • The trade and logistics channel project "Middle Volga – Caspian Sea – Persian Gulf",
    • The Trade57 platform, aimed at facilitating interaction among all OIC countries and observers to strengthen food security.
  • A B2B/B2G PROCUREMENT SESSION WAS HELD
    • Valuable business contacts were established
The Forum has established itself as a key dialogue platform that strengthens economic bridges between Russia, CIS countries, and the global Islamic business community. The participation of delegates from major financial hubs (Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia) and dynamic markets of Central Asia confirmed the event's high international status.
For Russia, this serves as a direct channel for diversifying foreign economic ties, seeking new partners, and mitigating the impact of sanctions pressure.

For CIS countries, the Forum presented a unique opportunity to gain visibility in the global Islamic finance and halal industry markets while finding allies in Russian businesses.
